Industrial Manufacturing:

10 Easy Ways to Improve Safety in Manufacturing Work Environment

10 quick and easy tips for a safer manufacturing workplace:

  1. Eliminate Fire Hazards
  2. Avoid Tracking Hazardous Materials
  3. Prevent Objects from Falling
  4. Use Correct Posture when Lifting
  5. Take Work Breaks From Time to TimeInform Supervisors of Unsafe Conditions
  6. Use Equipment, Machines, and Tools Properly
  7. Wear Safety Equipment (PPE)
  8. Prevent Slips and Trips
  9. Keep Work Areas and Emergency Exits

Eliminate Fire Hazards:

When you are not using the flammable material, store the chemical in an assigned safe storage area away from sources of ignition.

Also, store combustible waste in metal receptacles and dispose of it daily.

you are using combustible materials in the work environment, only keep the amount you need for the task at hand.

Avoid Tracking Hazardous Materials

Prevent cross-contamination by using different cleaning materials-such as mops-for various spills, and change clothes if you spill toxic materials on them.

Also, if you work with toxic materials, do not wear your work clothes home.

hazardous materials are not accidentally tracked into other areas, make sure that work area mats are maintained and kept clean.

Prevent Objects from Falling

objects from falling, use protections such as nets, toe boards, and toe rails.

In addition, stack boxes straight up and down, and place heavy objects on lower shelves.

Use Correct Posture when Lifting

How would fire accidents happened one of the best example my observations:-

Few days back servicing work for induction furnace by maintenance people after that left the old hose pipes, plastic paint buckets, water pipe, other flammable material inside instructed by safety person to clear all flammable materials from furnace deck but the shift it out side of the pannel room left it outside, after furnace taken into production spark fallen from the furnace on that plastic bucket that it ignited , plastic water pipe near to it also lit by it,than seen by safety team immediately controlled the fire,

How small fire can create huge fire accidents huge losses for any company small example.

First small spark from furnace ignited the plastic bucket than it lit rubber water pipe ,than anyone couldn’t identify it that it lit near by “LDO” oil pipe which is connected to tank capacity of 25 litters ,may lit the oil tank than it will produce big fire that it lit electrical cables passing through the master column than it may create worst fire accident in any company history so finally conclusion small neglegence create big blunder mistakes so all must work with responsibly.
